What software is required?

To access documents available by subscription within the TransACT Compliance & Communication Center, you need an Internet browser (Microsoft® Internet Explorer® or Netscape®) and Adobe® Acrobat® Reader®. Please visit Technical Information for details. Upon sign-in, the user's computer will be quickly checked to ensure that this software is installed. If the software is not compatible or not installed, the user will be prompted to upgrade or install the necessary components.

Who can subscribe to the services available?

At present, most public school districts within the United States can subscribe. Several states with existing contracts are not eligible at this time ( Kentucky, Iowa, Tennessee, Georgia, Nebraska and Wyoming). Private schools receiving Title I funds will be able to enroll in the future. If you are with a private school interested in enrolling, or a district in one of the ineligible states, please contact us: #.

Only one online enrollment is required from each district. The Superintendent or his/her designee should be the person to complete online enrollment.

Can our district subscribe through an Educational Service Center, or are there group or statewide purchasing options available?

Yes. You may subscribe as a single district or as a group through your local Education Service Center (ESD, ESC, RESA, BOCES, ISD, RESC, etc.). Education Service Centers may purchase a consortium license that includes all school districts served by the service center. For more information about available purchasing options, please contact: #.

Can I use Federal funds?

Funds under ESEA (NCLB) may be used for any activity or expenditure related to communicating with parents regarding their "right to know" and parent involvement activities required by NCLB. There is a significant increase in parent communication requirements under NCLB and the U.S. Department of Education encourages using federal funds for this purpose. Use funds from your required 1 percent set-aside for parent involvement under Title I either at the district- or building-level.

Who in our district can use the documents?

Unlimited, concurrent users throughout your district are encouraged to access the subscriber portion of the TransACT Compliance & Communication Center. When the primary contact for a district enrolls, he/she receives a confirmation email containing username and password information, in addition to instructions to sign up other district administrators and staff. Each staff member must complete a short registration process online to create their own username and password for access to the site.

Will we receive an invoice or receipt for our online purchase?

Yes. Purchases made online using a Purchase Order will be invoiced within 48 hours of enrollment. The invoice will be sent via email directly to the purchasing contact provided during enrollment. The activation email sent to the enrollee also will contain a summary of the purchase.

Purchases made using a Credit Card will be processed immediately upon completion of enrollment. An activation email will be sent to the enrollee and will contain a summary of the online Credit Card purchase.
