TransACT is hosting Dr. Carol Salva as she presents on “Success for SLIFE!”

S(L)IFE -  Students with (Limited) or Interrupted Formal Education is a subgroup of English Learners with additional challenges due to their life circumstances.

Difficult circumstances can result in limited schooling or interruptions in formal education. Extenuating circumstances like the COVID-19 pandemic have exacerbated this situation (among others) and created interruptions in formal education for all student populations, including ELs.

This webinar focuses on strategies and techniques for a sub-population of ELs, S(L)IFE students, and offers techniques that allow for capitalization on promising trends for educating this already at-risk group of students.

In this free webinar, you’ll learn:

  • Characteristics of this at-risk student group
  • Challenges teacher face when working with this sub-population of English Learners
  • Ways to support S(L)IFE students
