On May 29th at 9 am PT / 12 pm ET, Dr. David Holbrook, Executive Director, Federal Compliance of TransACT Communications, will be hosting a webinar examining the benefits of coordinating between ESSA Title I / Title III and McKinney-Vento programs when serving ELs who may be experiencing homelessness.
English Learners in homeless situations may not be aware of the services for ELs for which they are eligible. District Homeless Liaisons can work with their district, Title I, and Title III staff to ensure that required programs for English Learners are made available to ELs in homeless situations.
This webinar examines ESSA Title I and Title III collaboration requirements and how to pair them with McKinney-Vento to increase your district's ability to serve ELs experiencing homelessness. In addition to looking at the legal requirements for serving ELs and associated collaboration requirements, Dr. Holbrook also provides some practical suggestions on how these programs can be coordinated to offer services to ELs experiencing homelessness.
