SLIFE -  Students with (Limited) or Interrupted Formal Education is a subgroup of English Learners with additional challenges due to their life circumstances.

Difficult circumstances can result in limited schooling or interruptions in formal education. Extenuating circumstances like the COVID-19 pandemic have exacerbated these situations (among others) and created interruptions in formal education for all student populations, including ELs.

This webinar will offer techniques that allow for educators to capitalize on promising trends for students who are S(L)IFE. In addition, Carol shares practical strategies that can result in success for educating this already at-risk group of students

In the webinar, you will learn about

  • Characteristics of this at-risk student group
  • Challenges teachers face when working with this sub-population of English Learners
  • Ways to support S(L)IFE students

TransACT was honored to host this important presentation on how to help this important student group. Click here to watch the recorded Success for S(L)IFE webinar presented by Carol Salva.
